Rural Community Alliance will sponsor a Grant Writing Class at Eudora Community Room on Saturdays, April 25 and May 2 starting at 9:00 a.m.
Attendance both days is required. Linda Brown of Pine Bluff is the instructor and will teach how to write a grant and
how grant applications are scored. Participants will actually write a grant application during the class.

About 60 participants attended the Eudora Town Meeting on March 23, 2009 which provided
a forum for Focus Groups to present their findings and the public to vote on how to prioritize

December 9, 2008 - The survey committee met to draft a community survey for Eudora citizens, a business survey for Eudora businesses, and a student survey. Survey committee members: Debbie Gentry, Simon Henderson Jr., Alilesha Henderson, Nicole Harris, Denzel Washington, Erma Toney, and Hazel Mathis. Each was eager to distribute and collect surveys in order to get community-wide responses. Survey results will be used to produce a community assessment.

December 9, 2008 - Dynamic presenter, Brenda Hyde, Assistant Director of Southern Echo, Jackson, MS along with Marilyn and Melvin Young of Tunica County, MS provide a leadership development training for Eudora community members who braved the stormy weather during a tornado watch to attend the evening training.

94 residents and guests attended the Eudora Town Meeting on January 8, 2009
at the Community Room. Eudora Project Leader Erma Toney introduced city,
county, and state officials: Mayor William Stanton and staff; Council Members Pauline Davis, Laquinda Toney, Dennis Butler; Chicot County Judge Mack Ball; Former Judge Mary Turner; Quorum Court Member Terri McCullough; State Representative Robert Moore; State Senator Jimmy Jeffress. Results of the community survey and other data were presented in a Community Assessment by Rural Community Alliance's Renee Carr.
Agency representatives in attendance were Butch Calhoun, Arkansas Department of Rural Services; Mary Smith, Audubon Arkansas; Rachel Silva, Department of Heritage-Historic Preservation; Bobby Hall, U.A. Cooperative Extension; Kathryn Peacock, UAM Small Business Development & Technology Center-McGehee; Nita McDaniel, Arkansas Economic Development Commission; Mary Seymore, Southeast Arkansas Cornerstone Coalition; H.L. McGill, Arkansas Arts Council.
Some of the 40 Eudora students who helped Mary Smith of Audubon Arkansas develop a picture presentation about what is special about Eudora.
Community members volunteered to serve on focus groups which will meet regularly over the coming two months to develop recommendations for their particular focus area.
Focus group leaders are: Youth Development-Khadijah Butler; Economic Development-Stacy Toney; Education-Andrew Taylor; City Beautification-John D. Words; Arts & Heritage-Charles Meredith; Natural Resources-Ida Weston; Community Services-Hazel Mathis. Community members are encouraged to participate with a focus group. Rural Community Alliance staff members Renee Carr, Lavina Grandon, and Dorothy Singleton made a presentation about Community Revitalization at the Eudora City Council meeting on September 8, 2008. A crowd of 60 community members attended to hear about the project.
Eudora Rural Community Alliance Chapter Leaders Juanita Burton and Verlin Butler finalized and submited in September an application for a Charter School in Eudora.
Erma Toney was selected by Eudora to serve as Local Project Leader for Community Revitalization and began work on the Chapter Application and started rallying support from community and business leaders.
